What happens in Flight.
Lady Dedlock, knowing her secret is out, disappears from Chesney Wold. Bucket is tasked with finding her. He takes Esther with him, which is a strange and tense arrangement. They travel through terrible weather, following leads across London and into the slums. The chapter is a chase, but it is also Esther moving toward a confrontation she cannot avoid.
